It's time for one of these again, as I've moved along in my life as is normal.

Reading:

Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.
As it is famed for, the ideas in this book are intriguing and thought-provoking. There's a lot of sexual content, but mostly it's standoffish and conceptual, at least so far. Also, since I have read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, all I can think of when everyone in society hails Ford as the greatest entity ever is that they're all worshipping Ford Prefect, which is pretty weird and difficult to take seriously at all.

Watching:

Death Note
I've quit this three times and yet I'm coming back to it?! Well, it's peer pressure. Actually they didn't pressure me. My roomies were just interested, and I figured I'd give it another go because a) I'm older now and b) I was watching it alone before. It's not as frightening as I remembered, though it still has the confusing aspect of the main character being the villain. I think watching it properly requires that the viewer have solid moral footing and an ability to not take whatever someone says for granted, or they might get confused. When you get past the creepies, it's an intriguing detective thriller with a lot of logic and clever thinking.

Gravity Falls
To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what's up with this show. There's all this conspiracy theory and supernatural stuff in a kids cartoon, but at the same time it's pretty endearing and funny in its meta-humor style, and the animation is fantastic, especially the opening. (Don't believe me? Go look it up and watch it, and pay attention to how beautifully the light is depicted in every clip.) I don't know what the point is or where it's going, but I'm pretty sure I like it.

Writing:
A silly fanfiction, but it's going kind of slowly. It's my attempt to write a fluffy romance, and it's supposed to be lighthearted and stuff. I'm mostly writing it for Bethany and myself, since it involves our superhero characters, along with Thor and Loki. Ahem. XD

Playing:

Plants VS Zombies, on Bethany's computer.
I go a little crazy and panic over it. Bethany's offered to play a level in front of me and demonstrate how it ought to be done, since she has beaten the game five times, but I refuse. I just wanna be independent!!!!!!! And for the zombies to give me time to plant sunflowers before they force me to put down attacking plants.

So that's what I'm up to!

None of the images used are mine. All media is copyright its original owners. I'm only showing my appreciation.

Two currently posts in the same month?! Well, my situation is different now.

Watching:
I think the last thing I watched was the ending episodes of Doctor Who Series 3. Hermits united, awesome biblical metaphors and all that.

Reading:
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I read over half of it yesterday, and I'm hoping to finish it today. The reason I'm only reading the Harry Potter series now, at age 18, is because of family rules. My mom has concerns, and I can understand those. Please listen to your parents, children. But now I am more independent. c:
I really actually like it a lot so far. It's much more goofy than I expected. The story is engaging and the plot is pretty cool... the way things work together so well. Anyway, it's an easy read and very entertaining.

Listening to:
random!
Whatever Bethany decides to play, really. She's the musical one. XD Other than that, I've been listening to Owl city and stuff as I go to sleep.

Writing:
...NOTHING. This is really sad and I should fix it.

Drawing:
Well, I have no picture to accompany this because no scanner. But we're getting that printer/scanner later today, I think. ;_; So grateful.
Anyway, I haven't been drawing as much as I should be. But one thing I did recently that I like was a picture of Raven from Teen Titans that I did all in Prismacolor pencil, no inking or anything. And I drew Lasergirl in the same manner.

Working:
In food service. It's hot and greasy and not my most ideal job, but who gets their ideal job on the first go anyway? The good parts are it's convenient and close and it's a job. I'm glad that they gave me the chance even though I have very little work experience.

Well, that may be all for now. If I remember, I'll update the "drawing" post after le scanner is received.
Photos used are not my property. If I upload the drawing later, that one IS my property. But as of now I own none of those pictures.

Here's another "current" post!

Doing:
Packing. WHY DO I HAVE SO MUCH STUFF??? (This picture does not include my bed, the two dish bins plus a smaller box of dishes, and it also does not include my bathroom stuff. Or my clothes. If you look behind the closet door you will see a large box and a smaller box. The large box (big enough for me to fit into) is SOME of my bedding. I really love blankets, okay? The bookshelf that you can see part of is also coming.

Listening to:
Super Junior
Girls Generation
K-Pop. Getting my fill before I don't have wifi in my room for spontaneous dance parties. (I don't buy much music, so I have a kpop station on Pandora.) By the way, I'm getting much more than just Super Junior and Girls Generation on the station. I just chose those super famous bands to "represent" the genre. Some other artists that come up a lot: 2NE1, BoA, Sistar, Big Bang, and a couple Japanese artists, like Hikaru Utada.

Reading:
Um... I think the last book I finished was The Great Gatsby.
What with the movie coming out, Tumblr was buzzing, and that's one of those books I had felt I should read anyway.  It was okay, worth reading I guess. I'm probably not going to see the movie.
As for what I'm reading right now, I've been slowly going through the book of Job. It's actually very interesting in the storytelling structure aspect, and I've been marking up my Bible, underlining and circling all the poetic lines and phrases that give me ideas.

Playing:
The Legend of Zelda. I wonder if I'm going to beat it before I move? I'm not that great at video games, but as a Link cosplayer, I feel it's important to at least have played ONE of the games. And what's better than the classic? Okay, Ocarina of Time is probably the best one to play, but the bothers took all the save slots on that one.

Watching:
I never watched this show as a kid, but I really like it! Why don't they make cartoons like this anymore? The characters are well developed and relatable, the situations are funny, and bad guy butts are kicked. Kim Possible is a classic.

Well, that's all for now. I think I'm going to go try to play Legend of Zelda again. I can't figure out how to move blocks that are blocking some stairs that I'm PRETTY SURE I need to go down.

Images are copyright of whoever owns them. I do not claim to be that person. Except for the picture of me with my stuff. It's pretty obvious that one is mine.

WELCOME to a new regular (I hope) feature on my blog! It's hardly an original idea, but it's a good and persistent one. So here's the stuff I'm currently up to.

Reading
Sasameke
I picked up this manga at the library because I liked the cover art. It's pretty thick for a manga, as in it's three times the size. I haven't gotten very far. Reading before bed usually means falling asleep.
Basically, it's about a boy who used to play soccer and now feels pressured to play again (it's unclear whether he actually doesn't like it anymore or is just pretending). The girl on the cover seems to be almost a sort of delinquent (beating people up, anyway). I'm really unsure what direction the story is going, but the art is pretty so I'm going to keep reading.

Listening to
I've mostly been listening to playlists recently, it seems. I haven't downloaded anything new in a while. I've just been shuffling. The "listening to" section probably won't be the highlight of these sorts of posts. I'm no connoisseur of beats. Maybe if you guys petition Bethany, she'll do a feature on her blog. She's all about the musics.

Watching
Lovely Complex
Lovely Complex is a HILARIOUS anime about a tall girl and a short boy who just can't find love. Might they be a perfect match? NO WAY, they'd tell you (in perfect unison). They're just stuck as an unfortunate comedy duo who like to get the best out of life. The visual gags as well as the jokes actually make me laugh out loud, so GO WATCH IT. I've probably seen this series two or three times already, but I keep coming back to it, 'cause it's so good.

Kimi Ni Todoke
Kimi Ni Todoke is a sweet anime about an introverted girl who is learning to open up to the world. Unfortunately, Sawako's looks and mannerisms remind her classmates of a ghost from a famous horror film! It's really heartwarming to watch Sawako make friends slowly but surely, and I have to admit I relate to her in a few ways. It's rare to see an introverted main character. I've read the manga up to a point, but I'm still going through the anime for the first time. It can be pretty fluffy and cheesy, but it's oh-so-cute.

Well, that's all for now, but I'll probably do different categories when I make these posts, just depending on what's up.
